Hostdeck is designed to take over from DirectAdmin on the same server. Users, domains and configuration stay in their familiar places. Your existing work does not have to start over.

Coming from cPanel? cPanel backup conversion is part of the intended migration route. This extension is not yet in the supplied release specification; support must be agreed before migrating.

Run read-only mode on a separate port alongside your existing panel. Explore your data without changing it.
Make a controlled switch
The intended takeover first snapshots configuration, then stops DirectAdmin and starts Hostdeck.
Keep a way back
The planned rollback restarts DirectAdmin with the preserved data formats. Always test the entire route in your own environment.

Hostdeck is an initiative by IceHosting, a hosting provider in the Netherlands that used DirectAdmin extensively. Day-to-day experience created the ambition for a more flexible, clearer and more stable alternative.
One edition that works for everyone: from a small customer with a single website to a provider with many domains. Without choosing between licence tiers based on account or domain counts.
Hostdeck is 100% European and has no profit motive. No paid feature edition, no commercial upsell. Contributions help cover development, infrastructure and support costs.

Can I use Hostdeck in production today?
The specification only marks phase 1 as built: sign in and view existing users, domains and configuration. Write operations and full takeover belong to later phases. This website is not a statement of production readiness.
Is there really just one edition?
Yes. The principle is one open-source edition for small customers, resellers and hosting providers, without paid feature tiers or per-domain licence limits. Server capacity and configured user quotas still apply.
Will every existing DirectAdmin server work?
No. The first release targets Apache or nginx, PHP-FPM, MariaDB, Exim, Dovecot, Rspamd, BIND and Pure-FTPd. LiteSpeed, OpenLiteSpeed, nginx in front of Apache, NGINX Unit and ProFTPD are outside this scope. The takeover check must reject unsupported configurations.
What does “no profit motive” mean for support?
The Hostdeck project has no profit-making component. Voluntary donations and optional support are intended to cover costs. The proposed support plan unlocks no additional software features: the agreement only defines the support provided.
Where can I find the source code and licence?
A public repository, download location and final licence have not yet been supplied. This site therefore does not link to a download or installation command. Contact IceHosting for current availability.
